Early Years: 2005 to present

Leon Bolier started his production career aged just 14. Inspired by hearing Energy 52’s trance anthem ‘Café del Mar’ he started producing tracks with his brother Bert.  In 2003 the pair met  Warner Music Benelux’s Maykel Piron who gave them the opportunity to remix Libra's vocal trance classic ‘Calling your Name’ which was ultimately released under the alias Subsphere.  (The link with Piron paid dividends later when he became head of Armin van Buuren’s Armada Records, Leon Bolier remixing the first ever Armada release.)

Leon and Bert went on to release a number of their own productions on Dutch progressive trance label Bonzai and its successor Banshee Works, starting with the track ‘Infinite’ (Green Martian 2004).

By 2005 Leon Bolier was producing on his own and two years later he scored his first big success with the progressive melodic trance of ‘Summernight Confessions’ (Spinnin' Records 2007).

Bolier has gone onto release dozens of tracks on labels such as Armada Music, Blackhole Recordings and Spinnin Records, and has DJed at events such as Lover Parade, Gatecrasher and Trance Energy Australia.  His tracks are regularly played by the likes of Marco V, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Judge Jules.

In 2008 Bolier released his first original artist album 'Pictures' in 2008 and followed it up with a second album ‘Phantasma’ in 2010.  Also that year he launched his own Spinnin’ Records imprint Streamlined Recordings.

As a classically trained pianist Leon Bolier has clear musical ability, illustrated by his extensive back catalogue and diverse studio albums.  Yet despite strong support from big name DJs Bolier hasn’t yet quite managed to break through to the top tier.

Leon Bolier started classical piano lessons when he was 8 years old.  His brother Bart, with whom he used to co-produce, quit music producing to set up a company making garden-architecture.
