Joris Voorn is a Dutch Tech-House DJ and Producer.  Producing since 2002, Voorn’s style straddles House and Techno, combining filtered disco-esque melodies with chunky Techno Rhythms.  He co-runs his own record label Rejected Music.

Early Years: 2002 to present

Joris Voorn started DJ-ing in 1997, having won a DJ competition at school, but he did not start producing until later, with his first single - ‘Muted Trax Part 1’ (Keynote 2002) – released in 2002.  The track was an instant success with support from top tier Techno DJs such as Laurent Garnier and Derrick May.

In 2003 Voorn won the 'Talent of the Year' award at the Dutch DJ Awards.
In 2005 Voorn set up the Green record label with his friend Edwin Oosterwal and two years later set up the sub-label Rejected Music.

2009 proved to be the breakthrough year for Voorn. He  released the mix compilation ‘Balance 014’ (EQ Recordings 2009) which featured more than 100 tracks squeezed into the mix.  He also saw his single filtered House / Tech-House cross over track ‘Sweep The Floor’ (Rejected Music 2009) become one of the hits of Ibiza that summer.  On top of all this he won the Best Breakthrough DJ award  at the 2009 Ibiza DJ Awards.

Voorn enjoyed success again in 2011 with another successful filtered House / Tech-House cross over cross over track, ‘Incident’ (Rejected Music 2011).

Joris Voorn has made a big impact in a relatively short period of time.  As he has progressed in his career he has evolved his production style more towards the Housier end of the Tech-House spectrum.

Joris Voorn’s learned to play guitar and violin as a child.  His father was a composer.
